Light Layers under the Cherry Blossoms

April 21, 2017 by Michelle Hartenstein Leave a Comment

The Cherry Blossoms came alive and with them Spring arrived! Well, at least for one day;) With Spring comes light layers and versatility. I tend to wear a lot of light layers during Spring and to be honest, I even wear them during the summer because air conditioned buildings can get pretty chilly. One of my favorite ways to style light layers for Spring is to add a light weight structured jacket to a more feminine top with a pair of distressed denim or boyfriend jeans.
Gingham is one trend that can actually become a staple in your wardrobe. Although it is a trend for the upcoming season it is also a timeless classic print. I have linked below in this post to several beautiful gingham tops in updated and stylish silhouettes. I liked that this Current Elliott tank combined the classic gingham print with the peplum silhouette to create a very feminine, but also forgiving look. It is nice to have a couple go-to pieces like this in your wardrobe. This is definitely going to be on rotation in my closet during the upcoming spring and summer months!
I love all the different versions of soft pinks that are out for the season. It is kind of new for me. I usually don’t wear an excessive amount of pink, but for some reason this season there are so many pretty pinks to chose from that it is hard not to fall in love with it. I personally use it as a neutral and wear it with everything. I chose a beautifully structured Kate Spade handbag that I can either wear as a cross-body bag or a structured top handle bag. I think it is important to look for pieces that can be versatile to get more use out of your purchases, especially if you are going to invest in an item.
I paired this outfit with the Women’s Steve Madden Getdown Sandal in pink suede. These slides are incredibly comfortable and adorable all in one! Slides are a nice alternative to wearing heels for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons. Slides are such a fun way to add a cute touch to any outfit and not have to worry about being uncomfortable! What a bonus:)  I will be wearing them with everything, from denim – to shorts – to dresses. What will you be wearing your slides with?!

A soft pink handbag is such a fun color for the season and a subtle way to add a little color to your outfit – (Click on picture for direct link to product)

Michelle
